About Us

Philosophy

Believing that an educated citizenry is the cornerstone of a democratic society, we advocate public education as the means by which children are prepared to participate meaningfully in society.

Mission

The mission of Hillside School District 93 is to provide each child with a comprehensive educational program, to create and foster an environment which maximizes student learning, and to prepare these children to participate meaningfully in a culturally diverse democratic society as literate, capable, problem solving, creative, lifelong learners.

Equity Mission Statement

Hillside School District 93 believes in equity and inclusion. We affirm, acknowledge, and embrace all of the unique characteristics and expressions of self and culture of our students, staff, and families. Valuing the dignity of every individual, we dismantle systemic barriers in order to support and improve the academic and social-emotional health of our students. Staff engages in professional development opportunities to address unconscious bias and develop curriculum and culturally responsive teaching practices. As an entire community we work together to provide equitable opportunities so that all members of the Hillside family feel safe, appreciated, and included. We see you, we value you, you make us better.

About

Since 1918 Hillside School District 93 has provided a quality, comprehensive education to the community's children. The district is comprised of one school, grades K-8, with approximately 60 educators and an average enrollment of 500 children. The school's ideal size contributes to a warm, friendly, family environment where children come first.
