Assessment is used to measure student progress toward mastery of state standards. The use of multiple measures, both formative and summative, provides our teachers and our parents with information to guide instruction and to show growth. The state of Illinois directs districts to give standardized assessments to students, such as PARCC, ACCESS, Illinois Science Assessment and Fitness Testing. The district uses a nationally normed benchmark platform, Fast Bridge, to add information for both English Language Arts and Mathematics. Additionally, the classrooms use the common unit assessments that are tied to our curricular resources. Triangulation of the data sources gives a view of student learning and areas for improvement.
Public Act 99-690
