I joined Hillside school this year with 20 years of experience in the south suburbs of Chicago. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Illinois State University and worked in Child Welfare for 3 years. I quickly learned that through education I could have a bigger impact on children’s lives. My journey in education began in 2nd grade where I discovered my love of literacy. I earned my Reading Recovery certification through Governor’s State University and served as a reading specialist for 10 years. While in this position I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. My leadership experience started quickly after as an assistant principal for 3 years and principal for 4 years. I look forward to continuing my journey of life-long learning while at Hillside School.
Yours in education,
