Hi, my name is Mrs. Banks and I am a 2nd grade teacher at Hillside School. I have been married 22 years and have three sons, one of whom is currently in college working on a Bachelors of Science in Education. I love to teach and have been an educator for over fourteen years, 13 of those have been here at Hillside School. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and worked in Corporate America for ten years out of college. I have attended Western Illinois University and Concordia University.  I also hold two Master's Degrees one in teaching and the other in school leadership. I have lived in Hillside for 20 years and in the past have volunteered in the community with Hillside Baseball and Cub Scouts Pack 13. I have been the recipient of a teacher of the year award through a woman's advocacy group and the Fred Hampton Image Award during a past Black History Month at Lindop School in Broadview, IL. I look forward to a successful and fun school year where it will be my priority to motivate, encourage, and provide students with the tools needed to navigate through second grade. Welcome!
