We would like to thank Bernie's Book Bank for helping us promote the love of reading for our students. On Tuesday, each K-6 student received a bag of 6 age appropriate books from Bernie's Book Bank. After receiving their books, the students spent time in class trading books with their classmates.
The book bank was started in 2009 by Brian Floriani who was inspired to promote literacy to students after the sudden death of father. In 2017, Bernie’s Book Bank hit the mark of distributing 10 million books and is expected to distribute 4 million books annually to Chicagoland students.
