SUMMARY OF BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

At its regular meeting of October 24, 2007, the Board of Education discussed/acted upon the following:

• Mr. Molby deleted Item 7.A. Personnel: Employment/Resignations, and Item 11. Closed Session from the agenda.

• Open Forum

• Approved Consent Agenda with the minutes from the regular meeting and closed session of the October 10, 2007 meeting, and the destruction of the closed session tape recordings from January 18, 2006; February 15, 2006; and March 15, 2006.

• The Board of Education approved the 2007 – 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement with H.E.A.

• Estimated the annual financial levy for Tax Year 2006 reflecting a 4.9% increase over last year’s aggregate levy.

• Mr. Molby gave the Board an overview of the recent legislative action which requires a moment of silence be observed daily in Illinois schools. Hillside School observes this moment of silence immediately following the Pledge of Allegiance and prior to Mr. Bogren’s announcements.

• Mr. Molby reviewed the student assessment report with the Board.

• The 2007 School Report Card will be posted on the District website www.hillside93.org

• The Board tabled the final review of the IASB Resolutions until the November 14^th meeting.
