Parent/Family Organizations
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Hillside Parent Teacher Organization has served the school for many years. Enrollment takes place each
fall and costs $8 per family. Officers are elected each May. The President appoints committee chairpersons.
The PTO Organization Board consists of officers, committee chairpersons, and a school advisor. Matters of
business or concern to the entire PTO should be addressed to the Parent Teacher Organization Board.
Band Parents Organization
Hillside School has a very active and supportive Band Parents Organization. Parents automatically become members
when their child joins the band. Parents may choose their level of involvement in the organization.
Band Parents sponsor a fundraising event each year which provides funds for an annual pot luck and
entertainment, and also provides for summer music camp scholarships. In addition, Band Parents Organization
helps purchase instruments and uniforms for the band, and pays for other band activities.
The Hillside School Choral Association
Hillside School Choral Association is a group whose purposes are to promote and encourage choral music
in the district and to create public awareness of the choral music program at Hillside. Membership is
open to all parents and guardians of current chorus members, the music director, interested Hillside
faculty and administrators and other interested persons in the community. An entertaining activity is
planned for chorus members at the end of the year. The group supports the director in enrichment activities
such as music festivals.
